Coast Mountain College (CMTN), Smithers, invites applications for a non-regular/on-call Instructor to teach Introduction to Health Practices. The appointment will commence September 8, 2025, and end January 23, 2026. Salary will be in accordance with the BCGEU Instructor Salary Scale, ranging from $36.46 to $47.15 per hour.

Duties: The instructor will be responsible for facilitating learning (through in-class and practical skills) and is responsible for ensuring student success. This includes teaching and guiding students, providing feedback, correction, encouragement, and direction in the following program:

• Introduction to Health Practices –CEHLTH 800 - Face-to-face instruction; Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 1:48pm to 3:10pm.

This course will introduce students to careers in various health professions to aid in the development of their academic plans.

A current governed Health Professional belonging to a regulatory body such as the CRNBC, CLPNBC, BCCSW, COTBC, BC Ambulance Service, etc. Consideration will be given to candidates with at least 5 years practice experience in their profession and awareness of Aboriginal issues and culture as it impacts health care.

• Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching with the ability to motivate and mentor learners of all ages.
• Knowledge and enthusiasm for the best practices in equity, diversity, and inclusion in the classroom.
• Ability to function effectively across cultures, particularly with the Indigenous communities, is an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Adaptable and comfortable with change.
• Preference will be given to those who have taught Intro to Health for high school students.
