Coast Mountain College is part of British Columbia's public post-secondary education system, is governed by the College and Institute Act and helps fulfill the Province's educational mandate. The Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills is the government department which oversees all the public post-secondary institutions in the province.
The Post-Secondary Employers' Association is the employer bargaining agent for all public colleges, university-colleges, and institutes in British Columbia.
Within the College itself the Board of Governors provides long-term direction to the College. They work in partnership with both the Education Council and the College's First Nations Council.
The College President and administrators manage the operation of the College ensuring the College's strategic directives are being met.
