This page will guide you through the process of applying for admission.

For most of our programs, applicants are offered admission on a first qualified, first admitted basis. This process ensures equal opportunity to programs with available spaces. Once accepted, you will be provided with instructions to register for courses and to pay your tuition. Our educational advisors are here to help if you have any questions or need guidance along the way.

Review the program entrance requirements

Entrance requirements are specific to individual programs and these requirements must be met before you can attend. Certain programs may be restricted to individuals over 18 years of age. Review the requirements on the program webpage.

Program search

If you do not meet the entrance requirements, Coast Mountain College offers many upgrading options, and you may still be able to proceed with your application. Be sure to contact an Educational Advisor to discuss your options. Some programs require that you complete a placement test for entry. Determine when to apply
Applications are accepted during the 12-month period prior to the start of a program. Apply early to increase your chance of being accepted due to limited class sizes.

Read the program webpage carefully to see if the following may apply:
- Possible application deadlines
- Competitive application process
- Criminal Record Check
- Additional supporting documents
If you meet all requirements you will either be accepted or placed on a waitlist for the next available intake. Certain competitive programs, such as Nursing, do not hold waitlists and you will be required to re-apply.

Wait lists
If you are wait listed you will be notified as soon as a spot becomes available in the program. This does not guarantee that you will be given a seat in your preferred program intake and you may need to re-apply.

Programs with continuous intakes (such as Career and College Preparation) accept applications ongoing throughout the year.

You can apply to Coast Mountain College online and this will significantly reduce processing time. Be sure to email copies of your transcripts and documents to: info@coastmountaincollege.ca which will also speed up the process.

After you apply to Coast Mountain College you must submit your transcripts and documents through one of the following options:

To ensure your application is processed as quickly and efficiently as possible, please be sure to submit your transcripts and documents as soon as you apply. Each program has different requirements; please review the program webpage for details.

We recommend that you submit unofficial copies by email to get the application process started. Our Admissions Officers will also need to receive your official transcripts from high school and/or post-secondary; however, these can be sent to Coast Mountain College once your application is underway.

Transcripts
Official documents from high school and post-secondary are required for university level programs and health science career training. Documents are considered official if they are in the sealed envelope, or if transcripts are faxed directly from the sending institution. Please order transcripts around the time of your application to secure your acceptance.

High school transcripts
If you are currently in high school you are eligible for conditional acceptance and may apply before completing grade 12. Please submit official marks for grade 11 and proof of registration into the required grade 12 courses. Contact your high school administrator for transcripts and remember to select Coast Mountain College as a receiving institution for your final marks from the Ministry of Education when you complete your finals.

Permanent residents
If you received permanent resident status you must submit official copies of your citizenship information to CMTN.
Non-academic documents
Some programs require resumes, criminal record checks, first aid and other non-academic requirements. Please review the program page to familiarize yourself with these items.
Receive a notification that we received your application

Within days of receiving your application, Coast Mountain College will email an acknowledgement letter. After you have been sent your acknowledgement letter, your application will be checked for completeness and an Admissions Officer will contact you via email regarding any missing documents or information.

Note that you will not be accepted or wait listed until supporting documentation is received and your application is considered complete. Please review the section on submitting your transcripts and documents above for further information about this process.
Receive a confirmation of acceptance

Check myCMTN to see if you have been accepted into your program of application. Also ensure to keep us up to date with your current contact information by contacting info@coastmountaincollege.ca.

Once you have met the requirements, if a seat is available in the program, you will be sent an acceptance email. To confirm your intention to accept the seat you will be required to pay a $100 non-refundable deposit that will act as a commitment fee; the deposit is applied to the first semester’s tuition fees. Note that if you do not pay the tuition deposit you will not be able to register for courses in the program and risk losing your seat.

Conditional acceptance means that you are accepted pending completion of any specific course(s). An official transcript must be provided upon completion of these required conditions.
