Brightspace is Coast Mountain College's online learning site.

For students, this site provides access to course resources, assignment submission folders and other features to improve your learning experience. Course resources will become available on the course start date - check your registration schedule for the correct dates.

For faculty, this site provides a variety of tools to enhance your teaching and your student’s learning experience. Distribute course resources, quizzes, grades, updates, feedback and other features.

Follow these steps to begin using the site:

Step 1

Go to the Coast Mountain College homepage:

Select myCMTN in the header at the top of the page.

From the overview page select the Brightspace button to log in. 


Step 3

On the Brightspace overview page we have answers to some frequently asked questions in our FAQ's including links to helpful user videos and info to troubleshoot login issues.

Enter your Username.

Staff: enter your faculty or staff user ID with first initial, last name.

Students: enter your College Network User ID. Contact the Registration office if you need assistance.

Step 4

Enter your college computer login password.

Staff: for assistance resetting your password, contact the Service Desk.

Students: for assistance resetting your password, contact the Registration office at your local campus.

*Note:  Brightspace uses the college user ID & password and NOT the myCMTN username & password.

Select Log In

Additional resources

  • Make sure that you are using a Brightspace supported browser.
  • Check that you have enabled Javascript and Cookies. Each browser is different but the instructions of how to do this can be easily found with an internet search.
  • If this is your personal computer, be sure that you have Adobe Flash Player 10.1 or greater installed. Campus computers should already have it - let your Instructor know if you are experiencing issues.
  • If you are unable to log in:
    • First check all of the above as well as clear your browser cache and cookies.
    • If this does not work, contact your instructor or email for support.
    • Faculty or staff should contact the Service Desk.
