International Fees

Application Fee

As you begin your application process with Coast Mountain College, you will apply online through EducationPlannerBC. There is a $100 non-refundable application fee that must be submitted at the time of application by credit card.

Tuition Deposit

When you receive your offer letter to Coast Mountain College, you will be asked to pay a tuition deposit of $9,000 CAD through PayMyTuition.com. This deposit will be applied to tuition and costs for your mandatory insurance fees and student union fees. The amount will cover one full term, and a portion of your second term depending on the program you applied to.

If you are in a vocational program (trades, health care aid), you must pay the full fees stated in your offer letter prior to the start of your program. This must be paid via PayMyTuition.com as your initial deposit.

Annual Tuition Increases

Please be aware that each year during your studies with us, tuition is subject to a 2% increase. This applies to your courses, insurance costs, and student union fees. The amount quoted for your first-year fees in your letter of acceptance is applicable for your first year only. You can calculate your second year (semester 3 and 4) fees by multiplying that total by 1.02. If you extend your studies beyond two years, be aware that the 2% increase will apply to every subsequent year.

Insurances and Mandatory Fees

During your studies at Coast Mountain College, you will be charged for the following mandatory items:

  • Guard.me insurance – this will only be charged until proof of the public health insurance coverage is provided. This would be your Medical Services Plan (MSP) from BC.
  • Extended Health and Dental insurance – this will be charged once per calendar year, regardless of the term you start in. You may be eligible to opt out of this cost if you have comparable coverage, but there are many benefits to this plan. It is a student union charge.
  • Student Union Fees – this is charged each semester for all student union programming. This fee is required for each term you register in courses.

Refund Policy

If you are unable to attend Coast Mountain College after submitting your tuition deposit, you are eligible for a refund of a portion of your deposit.

Please contact admissions@coastmountaincollege.ca to begin the refund process as soon as you know that you cannot attend.

At this time, full refunds are only permitted in cases where Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) denies the study permit application. We require proof of this in the form of the official letter received from IRCC. When we receive this proof of study permit denial, you will be eligible for a full refund of the tuition deposit, less a $250 administrative fee. In the event of extreme delays with the IRCC, you may be entitled to a full refund if sufficient proof of delays is provided.

If you decide not to attend for any reason other than your study permit being denied by IRCC, CMTN will hold back $5,000 CAD of your deposit. The $250 admin fee is included in this amount, so you would be entitled to receive a refund of $4,000 CAD.
