This micro-credential is ideal for aspiring entrepreneurs eager to establish, manage, and grow a new business venture. Students will gain essential skills in organizing and running a business, navigating uncertainties, and working toward profitability. The impacts of social media is explored, teaching students to evaluate both the benefits and risks of different platforms for customer engagement. Emphasis is placed on viewing small businesses as potential social enterprises—commercial ventures with strong social objectives. Additionally, students will develop effective communication strategies, from face-to-face interactions to digital tools, and learn how to better understand and serve a wide range of customers, including handling challenges and building lasting relationships.
In order to achieve the Small Business Essentials Micro-Credential Certificate, students must successfully complete at least 4 of the courses listed below.
