AskAway help

AskAway is a province-wide service provided by BC college and university libraries, and while it is not always CMTN Library staff you may be chatting with, it is often available even when our library is closed. Find the AskAway chat box on our website and in many of our databases.

Course reserves

You may leave assigned readings in the library. The loan period is determined by you.

Film screening

Did you know we have licenses to show films outside of the classroom?  The licenses are with the two leading Canadian PPR licensing agencies, Audio Cine Films and Criterion Pictures. Each agency represents a number of studios, and their license is a "blanket license" covering all or almost all films produced by the studio.

Journal alerts and search alerts

EBSCO databases allow you to create journal alerts and search alerts to stay current in your field or interests.

Library orientations and instruction

If you expect your students to use library resources in their coursework, they will benefit from a library orientation session and instruction in the use of library research tools tailored to student assignments. Orientation and instruction sessions may be scheduled to fit your schedule. Please contact us.

Interlibrary loans

Does another library have what you need? We can get it for you! Use this request form or contact us directly. You can also follow the "Where can I get this?" link in any library's article database to request copies of journal, magazine or newspaper articles.

Off-campus access to licensed resources

The library licenses hundreds of electronic resources: databases, e-books, streaming videos. Access is restricted to the College's students and employees. Off-campus users must login with their student or employee number and last name. If you are denied access, please report the problem to the library. 

Project Rooms

Book a project room for up to four people to use through Bookings. Rooms are available in time slots of one hour, Monday through Friday. Please confirm access to the building prior to booking. 

Unlimited borrowing from the College library

There is no limit on the number of items you may borrow from the College library. You may request loans online in the library catalogue. Look for the "Request loan" link in your search results. Please note that you must know your PIN in order to request loans. Don't know your PIN? Please contact us.
