environment for children participating in camp.

What you're willing to achieve or already have:

  • Minimum Education: Currently enrolled and/or returning secondary school student (16 years old minimum) 
  • Standard First Aid, CPR-C, AED (willing to take) 
  • Experience participating in or leading sport, physical activity, art, cultural or musical programming 
  • 1-year minimum experience working or volunteering with children and youth 
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment 
  • Safety lens – to provide a safety lens in your duties and public interactions

Job Overview :                                                                                                                                                                                                       

At Montship, our Marine (Ship) Agents are responsible for meeting all ship needs for arrival to departure from the ports we are supporting. You will be opening PDAs, ensuring communication updates to the ships, the owners and your coworkers, coordinating all logistical requirements for the ship calls including at times visits to the ports and arranging crew changes. This position will be reporting to our office in Vancouver, but based in Kitimat.

We are looking for an experienced maritime professional who is passionate about the industry and loves the flexible work arrangement. You will be on call 24/7 to meet vessel requirements, working collaboratively with our Ship Services team.

        Duties:

        The Transmission Maintenance Graduate Technologist-in-Training (GTT) Program involves intensive on the job training and is designed to translate your knowledge into practical experience.         • Be trained to perform a variety of technical, administrative and planning functions related to the maintenance of transmission lines, including planning minor relocations, estimating, scheduling, acceptance inspections, construction and monitoring.
        • Perform a variety of technical, administrative, and planning functions related to maintenance of rights-of-way, such as contracting, road access, priority assessments and property issues.
        • Coordinate and/or performs activities involved in the tendering and inspection of transmission slope stability, erosion and civil work.
        • Provide technical input, assesses, coordinates and administers a variety of special programs and projects associated with transmission line maintenance.
        • Prepare tenders and administers maintenance contracts, including drafting specifications and supporting documentation, tendering, evaluating

        • Diploma or Bachelor of Technology from a program nationally accredited by The Canadian Technology Accreditation Board, or other training equivalent to Canadian Technology Standards. The following disciplines will be considered: Geomatics / Environmental Engineering / Forest & Natural Areas Management / Civil Engineering / Electrical with Power Option / Electrical Engineering / Construction Management / Mechanical Engineering / Geographic Information Systems. * Must qualify for membership in the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia (ASTTBC) as a Technologist.
