Student emergency financial assistance

Coast Mountain College offers several emergency funding programs available to eligible students experiencing unexpected financial hardship during the course of their studies at CMTN.

 

Technology Fund

With funds provided by the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills, CMTN is pleased to offer financial support to students who require assistance to purchase technology necessary for the successful completion of their coursework. Funding is limited and available until expended on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications will be accepted until October 12, 2023. Grocery Gift Funds for Students

The Student Society Emergency Aid Fund and the CMTN Student Union provide grocery funds to domestic and international students experiencing emergency financial need. For info, contact Financial Aid at financialaid@coastmountaincollege.ca.

 

Grocery Gift Funds for Domestic Students affected by COVID-19

The Student Society Emergency Aid Fund provides grocery funds to domestic students experiencing emergency financial need due to the COVID-19 pandemic through job loss, decreased hours, etc. For info, contact Financial Aid at financialaid@coastmountaincollege.ca.

 

Grocery Gift Funds for International Students affected by COVID-19

The CMTN Student Union donated $10,000 in grocery funds to assist international students experiencing emergency financial need due to the COVID-19 pandemic through job loss, decreased hours, etc. For info, contact Financial Aid at financialaid@coastmountaincollege.ca.

 

Indigenous Emergency Assistance Fund

The Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills provides grant funding to Coast Mountain College for the purpose of assisting Indigenous students with unforeseen and urgent financial needs that may affect their ability to continue their studies. Indigenous Wellness Assistance Fund

The Wellness Fund is a $150 grant eligible to Indigenous students. The grant can be accessed once per semester.  The grant is a little boost to support registered student’s efforts to access products or services that support their improved mental and physical health. Student Emergency Bursary

The CMTN Student Emergency Bursary provides limited emergency financial assistance to currently enrolled domestic students who encounter an unforeseen financial emergency or catastrophic event that could prevent them from continuing their education or otherwise impact their success at CMTN.
