Instructor - Business Administration Program (Prince Rupert)

Job description and duties

Coast Mountain College (CMTN), Prince Rupert campus, invites applications for a term Accounting Instructor in our Business Administration (BADM) program as outlined below (subject to minimum enrolment). Salary will be in accordance with the BCGEU Instructor salary scale, ranging between $37.55 and $66.37 hourly.

The instructor(s) will be responsible for contributing to the academic success of students in the BADM program. This includes course preparation, teaching, evaluation of student work and guiding students by providing feedback, correction, encouragement, and direction. Courses will be delivered face-to-face.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business (MBA preferred) or a closely related discipline (Commerce, Accounting, Economics).
  • Experience teaching in a variety of formats, including online, face to face and through distributed learning is required.
  • Additional post-secondary education and training in teaching, (e.g. A Master’s Degree in Adult Education, a Provincial Teaching Certificate or, a Provincial Instructor's Diploma) is preferred.
  • Knowledge and enthusiasm for the characteristics of our strategic plan (adventurous, transformative, and integrity) with the demonstrated ability to apply them to teaching.

The successful applicant will possess a broad range of content knowledge, confidence and experience with business topics. Experience should demonstrate excellent technology skills, group facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills. A commitment to student success is required, along with a demonstrated ability to foster a motivational learning environment for a diverse student base.
