Brightspace - CMTN Online Learning Management System 

Brightspace is Coast Mountain College’s online learning platform, supporting courses delivered on campus, online, and in blended formats. The platform enables instructors to share course materials, communicate with students, manage assessments, and provide timely feedback. Students can access course resources, learning activities, grades, and announcements within a single, well-organized environment. 

All instructors and students can access CMTN Brightspace by clicking the myCMTN tab and logging in with their college credentials. Upon signing in, users will see the courses in which they are enrolled, along with a selection of Teaching and Learning resources available for review. Instructor access allows faculty to create and edit course content, organize gradebooks, and communicate with students using BS tools.

MS Teams - CMTN Online Classes and Video Conferencing Platform

MS Teams is part of the Microsoft package that both instructors and students can access using their college credentials. Everyone can use Teams as a communication tool to connect with CMTN community. For online classes, instructors set up a Teams class that can be accessed through the Brightspace course page or directly through Microsoft Teams.

ReadSpeaker

ReadSpeaker is a text-to-speech tool that converts written text into spoken audio and is embedded into Brightspace. It allows instructors and students to listen to course content instead of reading, improve accessibility and support diverse learning preferences

Interactive Content Creation Tools

H5P 

H5P is an online tool that allows instructors to quickly and seamlessly create learning activities. It includes a wide range of content types - such as interactive videos, timelines, flashcards, branching scenarios - that can be easily added to course pages in Brightspace. Instructors have access to the H5P tool through the content editing mode in Brightspace.

Classroom Engagement Tools

Mentimeter

Mentimeter - an audience engagement tool used to make presentations more dynamic and participatory, allowing instructors to collect real-time responses from participants on their own devices and display results instantly during a presentation.

Padlet

Padlet - an online visual sharing tool that lets users post and organize content on a shared digital board. It allows instructors and students to post text, images, links, videos in real time or asynchronously and is commonly used for brainstorming and idea sharing, group discussions and reflections

Kahoot

Kahoot - an interactive game-based learning platform used to engage learners through quizzes and activities. It allows instructors to create or use pre-made quizzes, polls, and challenges and encourage participation through friendly competition
