Housing Advisors (HAs) 

Housing Advisors are full-time CMTN students whose primary responsibility is to make sure that each and every person in the community has a positive housing experience. They are trained to facilitate events and activities to help you meet new people and to build a strong community.  

There is one advisor assigned to each wing. Your HA should be the first person you talk to if you have questions, comments, or concerns.

Cultural spaces

The Wii Gyemsiga Siwilaawksat [pronunciation] building has many communal cultural spaces and is decorated throughout with exquisite First Nations fine art. As one of our students recently said, it's like living in an art gallery!

Each wing is equipped with a communal kitchen area that includes a microwave, stove and fridges.

Located in all three floors. They provide a great common area for gathering!

Laundry

Laundry facilities are provided on the main floor and are free of charge to Housing students.

Phones and internet

There are phones located throughout the building. The local phone is free of charge for local calls, and long distance calls can be received on all numbers. The building is also equipped with high speed wireless internet.

Visiting hours

Visitors are allowed in Wii Gyemsiga Siwilaawksat during limited hours: 

 Monday - Thursday  3 p.m. to 10 p.m.
 Friday & Saturday  1 p.m. to midnight
 Sunday  11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

*No overnight guests allowed

Janitorial services

Janitorial services are provided every weekday for the common areas, including lounges, entrances, stairwells, hallways, and public washrooms. Housing students are expected to keep individual rooms clean and orderly. Housing students are also expected to clean the communal kitchen after each use. Vacuum cleaners are supplied by the Housing Office for student use.

*All shared living spaces are a clean as you use and is the responsibility of each housing student.

Parking

Parking

Parking is free of charge, and conveniently located close to student housing. Register your vehicle with the Housing Office. Learn more about getting here and parking at Coast Mountain College.

Safety & security

At night, CMTN Security oversees the night time conduct of housing on campus, and also assists students when required.

Students are strongly encouraged to download our Alertus Emergency Notification app. Doing so will ensure that you receive updates should there be an emergency. Your phone will not use data to connect and the app is free. Visit the student self-service area of our site for instructions on how to download the Alertus app.

Food Services

Check out our daily menu in the Birch Grill and Cafeteria, prepared and served by our outstanding Professional Cook students. Or join friends for a coffee at the Cedar Café. For hours and more, click here: Food Services

Housing students, beginning in September 2026, will be required to purchase a food and beverage card each semester. The mandatory purchase will be $700, which gives the student a $1,000 card. The card does not expire and can be used in future semesters.

Library

The Terrace campus has a newly renovated Library, located in the lower level of Waap Sa'mn (House of Spruce). Check out the many services and resources available. Learn more.

Fitness Centre

Located in Waap Amgam (House of Cedar) with floor to ceiling windows and a world-class view of surrounding mountain vistas, the CMTN Fitness Centre is a great place to work out.
