Job description and duties

Coast Mountain College (CMTN), Terrace campus, invites applications for a talented and creative Website Specialist. This is a full-time term position commencing as soon as possible for a one-year term.  Remote work within BC may be available. Salary will be in accordance with the BCGEU Support Staff, Level 10: $2,381.40 biweekly plus a comprehensive benefits plan.

Duties:  The Website Specialist will provide superior customer service to support and assist in the operation and maintenance of the college website, providing training, technical support, and assistance with the development as guided by the Communications team. This position will ensure web content confirms to all legal regulations and obligations.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Work to improve the website as a recruitment tool, decrease downtimes, and streamline work processes
  • Support the maintenance of web content (documents, images, videos, etc.)
  • Assist with the development, testing, and implementation of user-interface designs
  • Code, bug fix, and develop/migrate content as needed
  • Update access and content management privilege assignments as approved and provide training and support for content providers and end users
  • Test and repair hyperlinks and update as required
  • Respond to end user inquiries about the website
  • Trend and analyze web metrics and optimize web services to accommodate user patterns
  • All other duties of equal scope and complexity

Qualifications

  • A diploma (bachelor’s degree preferred) in website development
  • Proficient in coding languages (HTML 5, CSS, and Javascript)
  • Proficient in database systems (e.g.: MySQL and SQL, Azure)
  • Proficient in industry standard software including: Sitefinity 14.4 and SiteSync
  • Intuitive and service oriented with exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Engaging communication skills with an ability to clearly express ideas
  • Demonstrated ability to support others in achieving a common goal and establishing a positive work environment
