Anti-racism resources now available on CMTN web site

May 27, 2021

Terrace, BC – As Coast Mountain College prepares for the fall semester, it has launched a one-stop resource page for anti-racism resources and connections to community groups that support newcomers to Canada, geared toward international students that are new to our communities.

“We know some students have experienced racism and we want students to know that we are here to support them and connect them to resources in our communities,” explains Coast Mountain College President, Justin Kohlman.

“We’re proud of our international students who are been brave enough to come to Canada from another country to learn and work, and often do so in their second language. These same students have become integrated members of our communities, working in critical retail, hospitality and other sectors, volunteering and many make their homes in our communities post-graduation.”

While many of Coast Mountain College’s international students continue to learn either from their home countries or elsewhere in Canada, some international students have been living, working and taking classes in our communities since before the pandemic began.  For the fall of 2021, courses will be offered in a variety of ways including online, in-person and blended formats.

International students arriving in Canada are required to follow all of Health Canada’s strict quarantine requirements before arriving in any of Coast Mountain College’s campus community locations.
