    Golden Spruce Award

    $1,000

    Description

    Two annual awards of $1,000 each are available for women who are taking steps to re-enter the workforce by enrolling full-time (80% course load minimum) in a program of study at the Terrace campus. Preference will be given to women who have minimal sponsorship from other sources, have been out of the workforce, and who are single parents with dependent children.

    Criteria

    To be eligible a student must:

    • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or refugee, and BC resident;
    • Be a woman who has been out of school for at least 3 years (single parents with dependent children and minimal sponsorship preferred);
    • Be studying at the Terrace campus full-time in an 80% minimum course load;
    • Demonstrate financial need;
    • Submit a 1-page letter outlining how the award will help them achieve their goals.
