Description

This award has been created by Geoscience BC, a not-for-profit society managing and co-funding independent geoscience research. This award is to support students, both domestic and international, who have a keen interest in mineral exploration and prospecting, and have a strong desire to purse a career in mineral exploration or geoscience.

University Credit students working towards an Applied Earth and Environmental Studies Certificate, or an Associate of Science, Environmental Geoscience are eligible.

University Credit students will have completed one of more of the following course to apply:

  • GEOG 150- Physical Geog I Biogeoraphy, plus a lab;
  • GEOG 160 - Physical Geog II: Geology, plus a lab;
  • GEOG 204- Spatial Analysis and Geography, plus a lab,
  • GEOG 207 - Lab Hydrology/Soils.

Criteria

To be eligible a student must:

  • Be a resident of BC;
  • Be enrolled in full-time (60% course-load min) in the University Credit program pursing an Applied Earth and Environmental Studies Certificate, or an Associate of Science - Environmental Geoscience Specialization;
  • Have completed one or more of the courses described above;
  • Have a min 3.0 GPA.
