Terrace, BC – On Thursday, November 20, the CMTN Foundation hosted its annual Major Donor and Student Appreciation Night. The annual donor dinner provides an opportunity for donors to connect with some of the students receiving awards and also gives those students the chance to thank donors in person. It was a lovely evening with excellent food, prepared by Chef Rob Stach and his Professional Cook Level 2 students, cheque presentations, heartwarming thank-you letters shared by students.
So far this year, between entrance awards and the current November adjudication, 182 awards totalling nearly $210,000 have been awarded to 91 students. There were several new awards this year, including:
- the Terrace Rotary Trades Foundation Award in the amount of $1200, awarded to a Hairstylist Foundation student.
- the Terrace Rotary Academic Success Award in the amount of $1200 was awarded to a Practical Nursing student.
- the Michael and Shannon Doyle Student Bursaries. These bursaries are in the amount of $800 each and are awarded to one student in a business program and one student in a health care program.
A big thank you to all our donors, including the 55 CMTN employees who donated almost $45,000 for awards this year, and to everyone else who made the event a huge success.
