About our Prince Rupert campus

Prince Rupert campus

Prince Rupert’s Coast Mountain College campus boasts a spectacular location on an inner harbour on the north coast. A mild marine air keeps the temperatures moderate throughout the year.

Our world-renowned Applied Coastal Ecology program at the Prince Rupert campus graduates citizens ready to start their careers in coastal natural resources management and ecosystem restoration. With a heavy emphasis on field studies, our programs continually bring theory to life through experiential learning.

Coast Mountain College offers a variety of full time programming in Prince Rupert that includes University courses and associate degrees. There are also diploma and certificate options to study business and social and human sciences and a wide variety of flexible career and college preparation courses. Short-term continuing studies, online and workforce-ready certificates are offered too.

Intensive summer field school programs combine a full semester of learning into just a few weeks where students experience northwest BC’s incredible history, culture and environment.

Through local partnerships with school districts and industry we offer trades training at our Prince Rupert campus through our regular timetabled programming and on a contract basis.

Located downtown Prince Rupert at 353-5th Street, our 12 million dollar campus is designed as two buildings with an interconnecting link and consists of 19 classrooms, two computer labs, two science labs and the innovation lab.

Community gatherings are often hosted at the multi-purpose room, where the floor to ceiling windows let in the sunshine

The campus is busy with the large library, multiple seminar rooms, trades facilities, a Learning Resource Centre, student lounge with associated offices, and administrative and service spaces.
