Trades

Adult Intro to Trades

It is never too late to enter a new career and acquire in-demand skills. Skilled trade jobs are highly respected, well paid, provide long-term work security and career advancement. An entry-level position in the construction industry in 2019 can start at $29.54 per hour.

In this course, students learn safe work practices, trades terminology, necessary hand skills, safe use of tools and equipment, general working knowledge of the trades and the path to an apprenticeship and a career in the skilled trades.

There are many opportunities for careers in the skilled trades close to home. Tradespeople can work for large, or small companies, work as part of a union, or be self-employed and run their own business.

Adult Intro to Trades matches students with their desired career path. Upon completion, students better understand which trade they enjoy, required prerequisites for further training, and how to obtain a meaningful job.
