Instructor (non-regular) - Systems and Networking Program (Terrace)

Job description and duties

Coast Mountain College (CMTN), Terrace campus, invites applications for a term Instructor in the Information Systems and Networking Diploma program as outlined below. The salary will be in accordance with the BCGEU Instructor salary scale, ranging from $37.55 to $66.37 per hour.

Duties: As an instructor, responsibilities will encompass facilitating student academic achievement, including course preparation, teaching, assessing student work, and providing constructive feedback, guidance, support and direction in the following courses:

Winter 2026 Semester: January – April

  • ITAS 141: Windows Server Management (75 instructional hours)
  • ITAS 164: Information Technology Project Management Essentials (75 instructional hours)

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in closely related discipline. Additional post-secondary education and training in teaching, (e.g. A Master’s Degree in Adult Education, a Provincial Teaching Certificate or, a Provincial Instructor's Diploma) is preferred. A combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • AZ 800, 801 or similar is required to teach ITAS 141
  • Practical experience in IT project management is required to teach ITAS 164
  • Experience teaching in a variety of formats (i.e.: online, face to face and through distributed learning)
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching with the ability to inspire and mentor learners
  • Knowledge and enthusiasm for the best practices in equity, diversity, and inclusion in the classroom
  • Ability to function effectively across cultures, particularly with the local Indigenous communities

The successful applicant will possess a broad range of content knowledge, confidence and relevant experience. Experience should demonstrate excellent technology and group facilitation skills.
