Coast Mountain College (CMTN), Terrace campus, invites applications for a full-time term Financial Aid Coordinator position commencing December 1, 2025, and ending on October 1, 2027. (subject to a leave). Salary will be in accordance with the BCGEU Support Staff Salary Scale, Level 12: $2,646.00 biweekly plus a comprehensive benefit plan.

Duties: The Financial Aid Coordinator, is responsible for the operational control of government student loan, grant funding, and administration/promotion of the awards program. The coordinator examines, analyses, and reconciles financial aid student records with financial aid budget accounts maintaining the integrity of financial aid transactions; ensures accuracy and compliance with college and government policies and procedures, within accounting guidelines; and independently resolves problems with varying degrees of complexity.
Tasks will include but are not limited to:
- Coordinate the Canada, BC and Inter-Provincial Student Loan programs. Confirm student enrollment and authorize the release to students of government funded loan documents, fund disbursements, and request tuition payments.
- Coordinate the Adult Upgrading Grant (AUG), Part-time Studies Financial Assistance Program, the Assistance Program for Students with Disabilities (APSD), BC Learning Disability Assessment Bursary (LDAB) program, Canada Apprentice Loan (CAL) program, Provincial Tuition Waiver program (TWP), Student Society Emergency Assistance Fund (SSEAF), Youth Futures Education Fund (YFEF), emergency funding programs, the Morice Legacy Bursary Program. Interpret government policy, determine eligibility, correspond with applicants, confirm enrollment, authorize and distribute payments, monitor budgets, recommend guidelines and award levels in compliance with funding distribution regulations.
- Coordinate the Student Society Emergency Assistance Fund for grocery funds amongst campuses. Liaise with the Ministry of Advanced Education and the Coast Mountain College Student Union to complete annual Memorandum of Understanding for program purpose and delivery. Coordinate purchase of gift cards and oversee administration of the fund by campus delegates.
- Reconcile and report multiple financial aid accounts by ensuring transactions are accounted for and posted.
- Forecast funding shortages based on student need and submit requests and rationale for additional funds to the Ministry of Advanced Education as required.
- Prepare, maintain and upload to the Student Financial Aid System (SFAS) the CMTN Institutional Appendix for Student Aid BC. Determine eligibility of programs, assign program codes, weeks of study and program costs.
- Research, design and instruct workshops about financial aid programs and resources.
- Conduct student interviews and assess information necessary to determine eligibility for student financial assistance programs.
- Set up and maintain filing system for financial aid applications and information to properly store, secure and access all applicant records.
- Coordinate meetings of the Awards Committee and the administration of scholarships and bursaries by providing agendas, recording minutes, monitoring enrollments, issuing payments to students and providing statistical reports.
- Work with sensitive and confidential information on a daily basis.
- Assist students to complete and file application forms and other related documentation for awards, bursaries and scholarships, loans, grants and government funding programs.
- Liaise with funding agencies as required.
