Coast Mountain College (CMTN), invites applications for a non-regular Instructor for Carpentry Trade Program. The appointment will be commencing September 3, 2025, and end March 8, 2026. Salary will be in accordance with the BCGEU Instructor Scale, ranging from $37.55 to $66.37

Duties: The instructor will teach an Introduction to Carpentry trade program that introduces students to the basic skills and understanding to work safety with hand and power tools to create projects. The instructor will include refreshing in relevant math principles to prepare for the Carpentry Foundations program which will include reading plans, using instruments to assemble and erect forms for concrete, wood and metal frame construction and install interior and exterior finishing for residential, commercial and industrial projects. The instructor will also instruct the Carpentry Foundations program which will include facilitating learning (maintaining SkilledTradesBC curriculum and standards) and supporting student success. This includes course preparation, teaching and guiding students, providing feedback, correction, encouragement, and direction. In addition, the instructor will oversee and ensure shop safety, complete the related administrative, record keeping and monitoring activities as well as other related duties as required to teach the following:
- Introduction to Carpentry: 4 Weeks (111 instructional hours)
- Carpentry Foundations: 24 Weeks (665 instructional hours)
This program will be delivered in Skidegate.
