Apr 18, 2023

CBSUA-delegation-2023Northwest BC — A delegation from Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) visited Coast Mountain College (CMTN) campuses in Terrace and Prince Rupert last week to support a memorandum of understanding (MOU). The MOU developed between CMTN and CBSUA is a plan to share knowledge, teaching, and learning opportunities between the two institutions.

“We share much in common, including a focus on Indigenization and training interests in coastal ecology and trades, all of which are important to the future success of our communities” says Dr. Titi Kunkel, Vice President, Academic, Students and International.

The delegation met with senior College administration including deans, associate registrars, faculty, support staff, and students, laying the groundwork for future collaborations in study-abroad and exchange programs.

“It was a powerful experience to be immersed in the cultures and communities that CMTN serves,” said Jerome Hipolito, International Relations Officer for CBSUA. “We now better understand the uniqueness of CMTN, the common ground between our organizations, and the opportunities to collaborate on environmental science, industrial technology, and criminology studies, instructional pedagogy, and field schools.”

Details of joint projects will be developed by various departments over the next three years.
