Description
The Terrace Hospital Auxiliary is a volunteer organization that
operates a Thrift Shop and a Gift Shop in Terrace, for the purpose of
raising funds for much needed equipment, for the Terrace Hospital and
Terraceview Lodge. In addition, they provide scholarships to local
residents, particularly high school students, that are pursuing health
field related education.
These awards are made possible thanks
to the volunteers who contribute hundreds of hours at the Thrift Shop
and the Gift Shop each year, as well as from donations received from the
public.
Criteria
To be eligible a student must:
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or refugee, and BC resident;
- Be a resident of Terrace and area, defined as having a permanent address in Terrace or Thornhill, with preference for those that graduated from a high school in Terrace;
- Be a first year student enrolled in a health program full-time (60% course-load min) who is returning to Coast Mountain College in the 2025 fall term for their second year of full-time study);
- Submit a letter about how the scholarship will assist in your education.
Note: The scholarships will be awarded to the top four academically achieving students who apply. Award monies will be released in the 2025 fall term after the refund deadline.
