Description

The Northern Institute for Resource Studies Bursary was founded to promote, encourage and advance the awareness, knowledge and appreciation of economic development in British Columbia, particularly in the northern area of the province. Through a donation to the CMTN endowment fund, the Institute provides four $250 bursaries for students enrolled in Business Administration, University Transfer (pre-Commerce and Sciences), Tourism and Entrepreneurial related programs.

Funds are provided to help students continue their education; recipients must enroll in the following fall semester to redeem the bursary. Enrolment can be with any recognized post-secondary institution.

Criteria

To be eligible a student must:

  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or refugee, and BC resident;
  • Be enrolled in Business Administration, University Credit (pre-commerce or sciences), Tourism, or an entrepreneurial-related program;
  • Demonstrate financial need;
  • Enrol in the following fall semester at any recognized post-secondary institution to redeem.
