Description

Native Northwest builds everyday connection to Indigenous cultures and has made a lifelong commitment to honoring and respecting Indigenous cultures and communities. Native Northwest hopes to support Indigenous learners so that they can tell the stories of their communities and cultures through their distinct designs.

Native Northwest has provided 8 bursaries annually of $250 each to assist students enrolled full-time in the Freda Diesing School of Northwest Coast Art. They are honored to contribute to a program that celebrates First Nations arts and cultures.

Criteria

To be eligible a student must:

  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or refugee, and BC resident;
  • Be enrolled full-time (60% course load min) in the Freda Diesing School of Northwest Coast Art;
  • Identify as Indigenous;
  • Demonstrate financial need;
  • Preference will be given to students with dependents, female students, and to those who reside in a community other than Terrace.
