Dave O'Leary Memorial Bursary

Amount

$800

Description

The Dave O’Leary Memorial Bursary has been established in memory of Coast Mountain College employee, Dave O'Leary. During his time with the College, Dave held the position of Dean of Instruction in Trades, Chief Information Officer and lastly, Vice President of Institutional Advancement. He worked passionately to improve access to education for all. He touched many lives in his too short but impactful career. He would be ecstatic to know that his mission to provide equality in educational access, regardless of personal or economic circumstance, will continue to be supported through this bursary.

Outside of work Dave was an avid fisherman and lifelong learner. Following his Career at Coast Mountain College, Dave went on to consult for several venture capital groups in Silicon Valley and was involved in the success of several notable start up companies.

The incredible selflessness, passion and dedication Dave brought to his work, was second only to his devotion to his family. Dave’s message to his children was always - “Don’t be afraid, just go have fun with it.” We, his family, would like to send this message forward along with our sincere congratulations, to the deserving recipients of this bursary.
