Student Engagement Coordinator - Full-time Term

Coast Mountain College (CMNT), Terrace Campus, invites applications for a full-time term Student Engagement Coordinator. This position will commence August 4, 2026 and end December 4, 2027 (subject to a leave). Salary will be in accordance with the BCGEU Support Staff Scale, Level 10: $2,452.80 bi-weekly plus a comprehensive benefit plan, paid vacation and sick time.

Duties: The Engagement Coordinator supports student success, wellbeing, and belonging by developing, coordinating, and delivering student engagement activities across Coast Mountain College campuses. This role combines direct student interaction with program coordination, helping create a welcoming and inclusive campus environment through social, recreational, educational, cultural, and wellbeing-focused initiatives.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate student engagement activities and events.
  • Build relationships with students and encourage involvement in campus life.
  • Support volunteer, peer engagement, and student leadership opportunities.
  • Coordinate monthly engagement calendars and support Student Engagement Officers.
  • Collaborate with academic departments, Indigenous support services, community partners, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage activity budgets, prepare reports, and track participation outcomes.
  • Maintain student resources, website content, and promotional materials.
  • Represent Student Engagement services at orientation, campus events, and community activities.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Education, Recreation, Business, Hospitality, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience in student services, recreation, hospitality, management, or a similar environment.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in facilitation, student engagement, or relationship-building.
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and clean Driver's Abstract.
  • First Aid and Food Safe certifications (or ability to obtain within 3 months).

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects, events, and priorities.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and creating inclusive environments.
  • Experience with budget management, staff/volunteer support, and event promotion.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and related software.
  • Training or experience in mental health, crisis response, safeTALK, ASIST, or Mental Health First Aid is an asset.
