
Convocation Numbers
For the 2024–25 academic year, Coast Mountain College had 418 graduates across all campuses. Of those, 43 self-identified as Indigenous, and 22 were dual-credit students.
Among academic programs, the Business department had the highest number of graduates with 166, followed by University Arts and Sciences with 96. Other notable programs included Applied Coastal Ecology with 30 graduates, First Nations Fine Arts with 10, and Health and Social Services programs with 45.
While students completing apprenticeships aren't included in the total graduate count, 133 students completed either a trades foundation program or an apprenticeship level.
In the Upgrading and Preparatory Education department, 6 students graduated with their Adult Dogwood, and 5 completed the Retail Services Certificate program.
While not all students are able to participate in convocation due to distance or timing, we held three convocation ceremonies for 2025 in Terrace, Smithers, and Prince Rupert.

- 137 graduates participated in the Terrace Convocation on Thursday, June 5.

- 35 graduates participated in the Smithers Convocation on Friday, June 6.

- 93 graduates participated in the Prince Rupert Convocation on Tuesday, June 10.
Convocation Awards
There are a number of awards given out at convocation each year. The winners for our 2025 convocation awards are:
Lieutenant Governor’s Medal for Inclusion, Democracy, and Reconciliation
Dene’Tum Patrick
This medal acknowledges a student who has excelled in their program while at the same time promoting inclusion, democracy and reconciliation within their institution and the community. Dene’Tum Patrick graduated from the Freda Diesing School of Northwest Coast Art with a diploma in First Nations Fine Art.
Governor General’s Collegiate Bronze Medal
Bless Catuiran
The Governor General’s Collegiate Bronze Medal is awarded to the student who achieves the highest overall average at graduation from a full-time, diploma-level, post-secondary program. Bless Catuiran graduated from the Early Childhood Care and Education program with a GPA of 4.29.
Distinguished Alumni Awards

Harsimran Singh (Smithers)
This award is given to an alumnus of Coast Mountain College who has made an outstanding contribution to the social, cultural or economic well-being of CMTN, our students, or the communities we serve.
Community Service Awards

Annette Morgan (Smithers)
Andrew Pope (Prince Rupert)
This award is given to a member of the community who is not a staff or faculty member at Coast Mountain College, and who demonstrates the values of CMTN by giving back to our communities and/or the campuses through volunteering.
