Coast Mountain College seeks artwork submissions to commemorate graduates of 2021

Apr 22, 2021

Coast Mountain College is seeking submissions for the development of a design for print and digital distribution that honours the 2021 Graduates of Coast Mountain College. The global COVID-19 pandemic has had significant impacts on how we are able to gather together. It’s meant that special ceremonies, such as convocation, have been postponed and graduates are being celebrated in different ways.

Much like the class of 2020, Coast Mountain College wishes to honour the graduates of 2021 with a unique art print that represents this milestone in pandemic times.

Designs should consider themes such as transformation, connection, renewal, resilience or achievement in their submission. The selected artist will receive a $1,000 honorarium and will be recognized on the Coast Mountain College web site, social media channels and in a message to graduates. Each 2021 graduate will receive a print of the artwork along with their credential.

Submission details

Interested parties should provide a brief description and sketch of their design concept along with links to examples of their previous works or electronic portfolio no later than Friday, May 14 at 4 p.m.

The successful artist will be notified by Friday, May 21.

The finished design must be delivered in a vectorized, high-resolution 300 DPI digital image suitable for printing no later than Friday, June 4 at 12 noon.

The artist will retain the copyright to their artwork, and grants unlimited, unrestricted and exclusive license to Coast Mountain College for the use of the image relating to convocation during pandemic times.

Current students, alumni or instructors at Coast Mountain College’s First Nations Fine Arts program, as well as any other artists are invited to submit proposals.

Deadline for submission of proposals:

Friday, May 14, 2021 no later than 4 p.m. by email to CMTN Communications at communications@coastmountaincollege.ca.

Deadline for finished, high-resolution digitized artwork:
