Terrace, BC – We're excited to share that one of our CMTN Early Childhood Education students had the opportunity to attend the 2026 ECEBC Conference Thriving in Kinship: Inspire, Uplift, Celebrate which took place in Richmond, BC from May 7 to 9. Kate Otiato, who graduated with her Infant and Toddler Early Childhood Educator Diploma just a few weeks ago, was selected through a provincial draw.

As one of just five Early Childhood Education students from across British Columbia selected to attend, Kate received conference registration, airfare, accommodations, and meals, allowing her to fully immerse herself in the experience. During the conference, she participated in inspiring workshops, connected with early childhood educators from across the province, and explored new ideas and perspectives that will support her as she begins her career in early childhood education.

Opportunities like these help emerging educators build professional connections, expand their knowledge, and bring fresh ideas back to the communities they serve.

We'd like to congratulate Kate completing her diploma, and we're so pleased she had the opportunity to represent Coast Mountain College at this year's conference. We wish her all the best as she begins her career!
