Coast Mountain College Class of 2026 by the Numbers

From June 2025 through May 2026, Coast Mountain College had 441 graduates across all campuses. Of those, 89 self-identified as Indigenous, and 230 were international students. Among academic programs, the Business Department had the highest number of graduates with 151, followed by University Arts and Sciences with 105. Other notable programs included Social Services with 38 and Health Sciences with 29.

While students completing apprenticeship levels aren't included in the total graduate count because they don't earn a CMTN credential, 85 students completed a trades foundation program and 26 students completed the Youth Explore Trades Sampler program.

In the Adult Upgrading and Preparatory Education department, 3 students graduated with their Adult Dogwood, and 8 completed the Work Skills Training program.


2026 Convocation Ceremonies

While not all students are able to participate in convocation due to distance or timing, CMTN held three convocation ceremonies for 2026 in Prince Rupert, Terrace, and Smithers.

Convocation Awards

There are a number of awards given out at CMTN convocation each year. The winners for our 2026 convocation awards were:

Lieutenant Governor’s Medal for Inclusion, Democracy, and Reconciliation

This medal acknowledges a student who has excelled in their program while at the same time promoting inclusion, democracy and reconciliation within their institution and the community.

Laura Clavijo Rodriguez (Prince Rupert Campus)

Laura graduated with an Associate of Arts Degree in Sustainable Communities.


Governor General’s Collegiate Bronze Medal

The Governor General’s Collegiate Bronze Medal is awarded to the student who achieves the highest overall average at graduation from a full-time, diploma-level, post-secondary program. 

Danica Maglanque (Terrace Campus)

Danica graduated from the Early Childhood Care and Education program with a GPA of 4.24.

Distinguished Alumni Award

This award is given to an alumnus of Coast Mountain College who has made an outstanding contribution to the social, cultural or economic well-being of CMTN, our students, or the communities we serve.

Community Service Awards

This award is given to a member of the local community who is not a staff or faculty member at Coast Mountain College, and who demonstrates the values of CMTN by giving back to our communities and/or the campuses through volunteering.

Sheena Millar was unable to attend the Smithers Convocation Ceremony, so her award was accepted on her behalf by her daughter.
