Yuriko has been an instructor at Coast Mountain College since 2001 at the Prince Rupert campus. Now she teaches psychology, statistics and in the early childhood care and education program. Yuriko studied at Tsuda University in Tokyo and at UBC and has a BA, MA and PhD.
She finds great enjoyment in teaching as it enables her to study interesting topics with like-minded students. “I encourage my students to succeed by telling them that we can stay young and have a lot of fun!”
Yuriko often travels to Japan and Switzerland to see family and friends but maintains that her favourite place to travel in our region is to Terrace because of the Pacific Northwest Music Festival.
A little known fact that many might not know about Yuriko is that her first job in Canada was to clean the stalls, feed and groom horses in Southlands, Vancouver.
