Smithers District Chamber of Commerce Scholarship

Criteria

To be eligible a student must:

• Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or refugee, and BC resident;
• Be a resident of Telkwa, Smithers, or Witset for atleast two (2) consecutive years immediately prior to commencing studies;
• A graduate of Smithers Secondary School or Bulkley Valley Christian School;
• Be enrolled full-time (min 60% course-load);
• Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or 75% mark (1 semester must be completed prior to award, except for trades);
• Demonstrate financial need;
• Must submit a letter to provide evidence of community involvement and/or volunteerism, including participation in clubs, organizations, or sports; outlining: your accomplishments and goals, how your education and future plans will contribute to the local economy and community, and include information on how long you have been living in the region.
