Geraldine McDougall Award

Amount

$1,000

Description

Geri McDougall was a single mother of five while attending CCP and the Social Work Program at Coast Mountain College. She continued on to University (UVIC) to finish her Bachelors in Social Work. While Geri was achieving her academic dreams, she was faced with many financial and emotional challenges, and with physically exhausting commitments added on to her with close family medical issues. We are proud to say Geraldine McDougall received her Bachelor’s Degree in 1992 and accomplished an amazing career of helping others until she retired in 2016. Geri advocates education as priority and if you’re looking down on someone, it’s only to help them up.

This award has been created for any single mom achieving her academic dreams, while struggling and overcoming barriers.
