  • Coast Mountain College Instructor Reunites 100-Year-Old Demonstration Totem Pole with Granddaughter of Artist Ellen Neel

    Earlier this year at Coast Mountain College, Kwakwaka’wakw artist Lou-ann Neel was reunited with a rough cut of a model totem pole carved almost 100 years ago by her grandmother, Ellen Neel. First Nations Fine Arts Program Coordinator Nakkita Trimble-Wilson and Program Officer Kelli Louie facilitated this reunion, after being given the totem pole by a resident of northern Alberta.

    CMTN is pleased to join the Western Canada Mobility Network, a network that offers attending students of participating colleges access and means to participate in their studies abroad while earning full academic credit.

    The first career fair on the Smithers campus was a great success and gave students the opportunity to engage with local employers while learning more about the local job options.
