Most programs and courses will continue to be delivered through distance learning modes. A limited number of programs include aspects of delivery that are in-person activities on campuses or off-site in our communities.

CMTN campuses remain closed to the public with access restricted to approved staff and students as well as prospective students, clients, and contractors. All campus services are available by phone or email; a limited number of services, such as registration and libraries are available for in-person access on campus.

COVID-19 symptoms and illness process

Stay home when you are ill or required to self-isolate or quarantine. Use the self-assessment tool and call 8-1-1 for advice from public health professionals. CMTN is committed to supporting you in meeting your educational goals in the face of disruptions due to COVID-19. Stay in touch with your instructor for support during your absence and in planning for a safe return to in-person activities.

What you need to know if you are coming on to campus

Complete and confirm health checks daily

You are required to complete a self-assessment of your health each day before you come on to campus, and to follow check-in procedures to confirm your health on arrival. Sign-in sheets are provided at service spaces, follow procedures as directed for offices and classrooms. You are not permitted on campus if you have not satisfied daily health check requirements.

Face covering requirements

Face coverings are required in all shared spaces and group settings. This includes indoor spaces such as hallways, classrooms, meeting rooms, and work vehicles; this also includes outdoor spaces where safe physical distancing cannot be maintained, such as picnic tables.

Face coverings must cover your nose and mouth. Review how to wear a face covering properly:

If you need support accessing a suitable mask for use, or if you are unable to wear a mask, please connect with your instructor or supervisor for support. Accessibility Coordinators and Human Resources are available to support accommodations. An inventory of disposable non-medical face coverings are maintained centrally and at each campus, and select departments will have a limited number of masks available to support access where required.

Exemptions from wearing a face covering are limited to those detailed in the Public Health Order released on April 21, 2021 [PDF].

Physical distancing

Be aware of the space and those around you. Maintain a safe physical distance of at least 2 metres at all times. Adhere to the posted signage and avoid crowding together or congregating in any indoor and outdoor spaces.

Wash your hands

Wash your hands well and often with soap and water. Use hand sanitizer in those situations where you cannot readily wash your hands. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

Your actions matter!

Thank you for taking safety seriously and doing your part to help manage the spread of COVID-19. Protecting the health of our community is a shared responsibility. CMTN will continue to be flexible in the face of the pandemic while we remain committed to the health of our communities and supporting the success of our students and employees.
