Fire Across the Land: Residential School interactive workshop
A compelling workshop for Indigenous Youth that will bring greater awareness to the trauma that their people have had to endure throughout Canada’s history, and to show the Resilience, Strength and Courage their people have had to display in order to endure these impacts.
Indigenous Youth will begin to understand how these impacts affected the way Indigenous people began to see, think, feel, and eventually behave as a result of Colonialism and the Residential Schools. By having felt these impacts along with their change in perception of their people, youth will have a deeper and more empowering understanding of what their people have had to overcome. As a result of seeing their people differently, they will begin to see themselves differently. This will help them move from a state of anger, shame & frustration to a state of empathy, love & compassion.
