  • Four Students Complete New Zealand Study Tour to Learn Indigenous Perspectives in Early Childhood Education

    In February 2025, four Indigenous students from CMTN’s Early Childhood Care and Education Program embarked on a field school to New Zealand. The tour allowed the students to make connections between Māori Indigenous knowledge and their own Indigenous knowledge. They also came to understand the significance of relationships to people, places, and things from the Māori perspective.

    Sandy Kaardal has found a world of opportunity since her first day at Coast Mountain College (CMTN). Initially enrolling in the Business Technical Program, Sandy now works as an admissions officer at CMTN. She appreciates that the college provided the foundational skills that helped her chart her career path.

  • Alishia Grace Benson-McCarthy Stands Out as a Student Representative on the Board of Governors

    Terrace, B.C. - During her time at Coast Mountain College (CMTN), Alishia Grace Benson-McCarthy is guided by a code of self-determination, diligence, and consistency that steers her career path to a future she knows she wants and isn't hesitant to work towards. This code of conduct is why, even beyond her decade of business experience, Alishia continues making impactful changes as a student representative on the Board of Governors while pursuing a diploma in Business Administration, with a concentration in Human Resources.

    Longtime staff member Emilia McConville recounts her 35 years of life at Coast Mountain College's Prince Rupert Campus, as well as her early years. Emilia retired in 2024.
